The distinguished image projected from the "Charlotte" is one not often found in oak clocks. The elaborate and unique craftmanship on this cabinet is hard to dismiss......Notice the hand carved solid wood accent on the crown and the exotic white ash burl overlays over the arched bonnet. The dial is set in a solid wood frame with reeded pilasters and intricately hand carved leaf designs. This impressive work of art also has rope moulding around the base on three sides. Both the locking front and side pendulum door feature beveled glass. The dial has a mirrored background with heavy overlays in the center and has decorative spandrel designs. There is a functioning astological moon dial and remote second hand. The polished brass clock face and dial features raised Arabic numerals, and is framed with raised castings.
The design of the dial is carried through to the weights and pendulum with decorative silver and polished brass weights and a brass twisted rod lyre pendulum which features a 270mm disk with decorative center. The cable driven German movement has triple chimes which play Westminster, Whittington or St. Michaels chimes and features an auto night silence option.
