Beautifully V matched cherry veneer and hand carved fleur-de-lis gracefully adorn the top of this "Essex" grandfather clock. Glen Arbor cherry finish and intricate detailing on the cabinet over select cherry hardwoods and veneers make this piece an absolute winner. The finish is complemented by stately carved medalion top caps which flow to the fluted columns running along each side of the case. This impressive design is further enhanced by raised overlays which accent each corner of the oval beveled glass pendulum door. Beveled glass is also found on the side panels and in the side access panels allowing full viewing of the brass German movement. Both the pendulum door and dial access door lock for added security. Leveling legs are added for uneven floors or carpets.

The elaborate and decorative dial's motif is carried through to matching banded weights on a brass German cable drive movement, complemented by a lyre pendulum with a 10 5/8" decorative center disk. The triple-chime cable drive movement plays the soothing Whittington, Westminster or St. Michael's chimes and has a separate hour strike feature and also features an automatic night silent option.
