Inspect the construction and design of this clock - This is certain to be a piece the kinds fight over! The exquisite cabinet of this Ridgeway Grandfather clock has every imaginable feature - antique cherry finish on select hardwoods and veneers accentuate the beautiful shape and carvings of this everlasting design. The multi-tiered base features carved designs on the corners which frame the book matched olive burl overlays and complementing shell and leaf overlays. The cabinet's bottom locking door and door glass is serpentine in design, which adds an unstated beauty and elegance to this piece. The upper locking door and side access panels also have beveled glass, allowing full viewing of the brass German movement. Leveling legs are added for uneven floors or carpets. The polished brass dial features raised Arabic numerals, a crystal glass center design and etched corner spandrels. The dial has a moving moon dial with etched stars so that a mounted light reflects through the stars and center crystal of the dial.
Polished brass weights hang from the cable driven West German mechanism and the brass rod lyre pendulum features a 10 5/8 disk with a 24% lead crystal center insert. The back of the case is mirrored and an additional light mounted in the bottom of the case not only reflects off the mirrored back, but also through the crystal center of the pendulum. Frosted glass softens the illumination. The triple chime movement plays Westminster, Whittington or St. Michaels chimes and features an auto night silence option. As with every fine, heirloom quality Ridgeway Grandfather Clock, a free brass engraved nameplate comes with the piece.
