 Maple Furniture Facts
Maple is used in making furniture because it has a beautiful grain and because it is a very hard and durable wood. Maple is often used without stain and just a sealer coat to make furniture like chairs, cabinets and tables. Maple furniture can also be stained so as to look very similar to cherry in appearance. Furniture made from maple is ideal for people who move frequently as it is very sturdy material.
Maple is also known for things other than making solid and durable tables, chairs, chests and dressers. It is also a source for a favorite food, as its syrup is used by many people to put on pancakes. Maple syrup comes from the sap of the maple tree. Tapping, or penetrating the tree to drain the sap does not hurt the trees. When heated and boiled, the sap becomes delicious syrup.
There are many kinds of maple trees and most if not all of them have been used for making furniture at some point. They include the sugar maple, black maple, red maple, silver maple, mountain maple, striped maple, big leaf maple, chalk maple, canyon maple, rocky mountain maple, vine maple and the Florida maple.
Maple furniture, depending on the stain, looks good in both formal and informal settings. Maple furniture can be of virtually any style of furniture as well.
